Most services that the NHS provides are free of charge, but some things are not covered by NHS funding. This is classed as private work and therefore incurs a charge. Examples of non-NHS services for which GP’s can charge their patients include but not limited to:
- Holiday cancellation forms
- Private medical insurance forms
- Some travel vaccinations
- Letters requested by or on behalf of, the patient.
If you need a GP to complete a form or provide a letter on your behalf, please contact the surgery. You will be advised if there is a charge for this work. Most private work is outsourced to Medi2data who will complete this work on behalf of our GPs. Some work may be completed by a GP from the surgery if it is not suitable to be passed to Medi2data.
For more information about Medi2data and their fees, please see their website: https://www.medi2data.com/patients/

Please note that we do not complete any paperwork for Firearms applications. This can be done by Medi2cert: https://medi2cert.co.uk/product/firearms-medical-certificates/ or any other private provider.
