There is a charge for some travel immunisations and prescriptions not provided under the NHS; a list of these charges is available from the practice Administrators’ team. Please note we are not a ‘Yellow Fever’ centre and this service will need to be accessed elsewhere.
For travel vaccination advice, please go to http://www.nathnac.org/travel/index.htm and vaccinations required on the links below
Travelling abroad with prescribed medicines.
If you take prescibed medications abroad, we recommend you contact your travel agent or airline as soon as possible as you may need a letter from the doctor. If this is the case, please write to us informing what medication you are taking and where you are going. There will be a charge for this letter and it may take up to 3 weeks to process.
Travelling abroad with controlled drugs.
Some countries may have their own import regulations for controlled drugs and it is advised for travellers to contact a country's embassy to check.
FEES FOR ‘PRIVATE’ SERVICES FROM YOUR DOCTOR As you are aware most of the services we provide as a General Practice are free of charge under the NHS. However, the NHS does not cover the following services and therefore we do make a ‘private’ charge, in line with fees recommended by the British Medical Association.
Administration of Private Travel Vaccines (per vaccine)
When making payment for private services we would prefer payment via cheque made payable to 'Wellbrook Medical Centre'. If this is not possible, please ensure you have the correct amount as we do not carry cash on the premises to give change. Feb 2012
